Next generation legal services, today.

Nonprofit organizations and/or trade groups face the same challenges as any small business, with the added complexity of serving a constituency that is ordinarily comprised of members holding diverse views and opinions.  Executive directors of nonprofit organizations often find themselves acting as part business manager, and part politician, as they attempt to maintain a delicate balance in serving the needs of each member and the needs of the entire membership as a whole.

Attorney Daniel Anderson understands these challenges because he has actually formed a Washington, D.C. based trade association and then served as its executive director.   As such, Mr. Anderson offers a unique perspective to nonprofit organizations both as a lawyer and as a former executive director.

The services that we provide to nonprofit organizations include the same services that we provide to any small business.  Additionally, however, we can serve as general counsel to nonprofit organizations that need regular legal advice and services for a flat monthly fee.  Perhaps the most innovative service that we provide to nonprofit organizations involves filing amicus briefs in matters pending before the United States Supreme Court, as well as federal and state appellate courts.

Amicus briefs are so-called "friend of the court" legal briefs that educate a court regarding the concerns of association members.  Such briefs are often filed when the outcome of a particular case is of vital importance to the constituents of a nonprofit organization.

The filing of an amicus brief is an important tool that a nonprofit organization can use to address key issues, and provides the added benefit of demonstrating to members that the organization is actively protecting the interests of its members.  Because we are located in Tampa, Florida, rather than Washington, D.C., we can draft and file amicus briefs at a fraction of the cost that other firms might charge.  Please contact us to see how we can be of service to your nonprofit organization!
